At the Collaborations Workshop 2012

2012-03-21-046

We're currently at the Collaborations Workshop, an event organised by the Software Sustainability Institute to encourage more cooperative working between researchers and software developers across research disciplines.

This engaging event is an enjoyable and inspiring one to attend, helping to reassure the researcher that they are not alone and similar problems are being faced, and addressed, by all sorts of others around the country.

Queen's College, Oxford

A relaxed and flexible agenda includes lightning talks, a collaborative discussion session, and several break-out sessions. At last year's event Luís Figueira from SoundSoftware.ac.uk presented a lightning talk; for this year we've proposed a break-out topic on managing copyright and licences in research software.

Other interesting break-out topics include cloud computing, digital humanities research, gathering user feedback, open data and open knowledge, and research council funding for software.
